Lee County man arrested for impersonating law enforcement after frightening family encounter

Deputies in Lee County arrested a man accused of impersonating law enforcement after he knocked on a family’s door wearing a vest, gun, and radio, claiming to be a sheriff’s deputy investigating a dog attack. The family grew suspicious when they noticed he had no official insignia and called authorities. Deputies say the suspect tried to claim he was a corrections officer but had no identification.
