Van Crash Snarls Traffic On Northbound Sawgrass Expressway
SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Nearly a dozen men were hurt when a work van flipped on the Sawgrass Expressway just north of the Sunrise Boulevard exit early Thursday morning.
A van came to rest in the right shoulder. Sunrise Fire Rescue reports the van was filled with heavy equipment used for construction and was carrying 10 passengers.
Chopper 4 over the scene spotted a Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue helicopter land and pick up one of the injured.
Four of the injured were taken to Broward Health Medical Center. The six others were taken to other area hospitals.
Sunrise Fire Rescue confirmed one man's hands was severed.
