Man accused of stabbing, killing his own mother in Tamarac, BSO says

A man is facing a first-degree murder charge after authorities say he fatally stabbed his mother Friday night in Tamarac.

Manuel Farfan-Cabello, 28, was arrested and taken to Broward County Main Jail, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded around 7:45 p.m. to a home along the 5300 block of Northwest 28th Avenue and found the suspect's 58-year-old mother, Ylda Cabello-Ynocente, suffering from multiple stab wounds, investigators said.

Emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene. Neighbors told CBS News Miami off-camera that SWAT teams had to respond to the scene Friday night.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the stabbing weren't immediately known.

Farfan-Cabello appeared in bond court, where a judge ordered a mental health screening for him. He was also denied bond. An attorney also requested a health screening, which was granted.

Farfan-Cabello is charged with premeditated murder.
