Big Story:
The Miami Heat played about as poorly a third quarter as you could play and still won, more on that later. The Marlins, well they're sinking faster than the president's re-election chances. And my guess on the Dolphins quarterback situation heading into training camp.

Miami Heat: (off Monday)
How about that Heat fans?
The team absolutely stunk it up in the third quarter of last night's game.
By my count at the arena, and I could be off, but I counted just three made baskets in the third quarter.
The rest of it was free throws.
Don't get me wrong, that's impressive to get to the line that much, but yknow, a few more jumpers and the game would have been a blowout.
Would've, should've, could've.
Here's what I liked last night:
The Heat showed off being the veteran team and never let the game get away from them, even when OKC took a 10 point lead in the third quarter.
The Heat kept trudging along and didn't look back in the fourth quarter.
They just kept coming at the Thunder and the defensive intensity got better as the game wore on in the second half.
LeBron and Wade combined to score 54 points on 19-45 shooting. It's only 42 percent from the field, but last night that was pretty good.
LeBron finished with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 assists. Wade finished with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.
The Heat really moved the ball well in the half-court offense with Wade and LeBron threading pinpoint passes.
Miami also kept Kevin Durant in check by getting him into early foul trouble.
Once Durant picked up his third foul, the Heat attacked him in the third quarter and he picked up number four.
Then early in the fourth, Durant picked up number five and the Thunder switched him to guarding Mario Chalmers.
Battier hit some big shots in the first half and finished with 9 points and 3 rebounds.
Udonis Haslem finished with 6 points and 3 rebounds and even James Jones got in the scoring mode with 6 points on a made 3-pointer and 3 free throws.
The Heat's defense was also just ridiculous down the stretch and it was like watching a noose tighten around an opponent.
Also, the Heat held OKC to shooting 22.2% from behind the 3-point line.
And lest I forget, the crowd at the AAA was completely jacked up last night and kept the entire arena rocking and rolling.
(kudos to the sounds guys for piping in some Marilyn manson, korn, metallica, and other hard rock throughout as well)
Here's what I didn't like:
The Heat's jump shooting ability throughout the game.
I am still stunned the Heat hit three baskets in the third quarter and finished the quarter with the lead.
Oklahoma City had every chance to take that game over as the Heat served it up on a silver platter.
But the Thunder couldn't.
I didn't like seeing Kendrick Perkins pull in 6 offensive rebounds.
I also didn't like Mario Chalmers game as he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn last night.
Finally, Mike Miller's stat line when he exited the game in the second quarter last night: 6:33 played, 4 points, 2 rebounds, 3 fouls.
Game 4 is Tuesday night at the AAA.
My early pick is the Heat by around 2 points, but that's just my early line right now.

Miami Marlins: (off Monday)
The Marlins have now played the Rays six times in the last 10 days.
The Marlins have won a total of 1 of those six games.
Since June started the Marlins are 4-11 and have dropped to .500 on the season.
The Fish also don't have any player hitting near .300 right now. Infante is closest, but he's hitting just .281 on the season.
I don't know what happened to the team from May to June but, for lack of better words…DAMN!
Seriously, the Marlins bats are ice cold, the pitchers are getting just hammered, and interleague play is murdering the Marlins' record.
As much as I like how the team has played at points this year, it still looks like they're one or two pieces away from truly contending.
Of course I'll write that and they'll turn hotter than the sun in July and August.
Right now though, the only thing colder than the Marlins is a Republican's heart. (I kid, I kid.)

Dolphins:
We're just around six weeks to the start of training camp and here's my read on the Fins' quarterback situation.
It's a two man race between Moore and Garrard.
If he's healthy, I'd probably favor Garrard simply based on his past performance with the Jaguars…IF…he's healthy.
Eventually, if he's healthy I see Garrard starting and then if he struggles midway through the year and the Fins are out of contention they hitch their wagon to Tannehill.
Speaking of Tannehill, I'm still not completely sold on the kid.
He can prove me wrong, but I keep going back to last year when his team had a big lead in the second half of multiple games and the offense just froze solid.
Yes, some of it can be on the defense and his receivers, but ultimately, the offense's success is on him.
And when the game was on the line last year, he couldn't move the offense.
Hopefully, a better supporting cast around him and a slowly improving defense will help him out.
He knows the offense well, he just needs to execute at a high level.
