Rev. Dunn Wins Miami District 5 Seat
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami voters chose Richard Dunn to continue serving as their commissioner for District 5 – a seat which has had troubled politicians in the past.
Miami Commissioners had appointed Dunn to the seat after Michelle Spence Jones was suspended twice from her seat. She now faces a bribery charge.
Dunn had initially said he would not run for the seat, but made an about face and explained his decision.
"When I said I would not run for the commission seat, I had no idea there would be a groundswell of support asking me to keep the seat," Dunn said earlier this year.
Dunn says that groundswell includes more than one thousand signatures from voters. And on Tuesday that support was evident with the numerous voters who cast a ballot for him.
