Police: Tampa Woman Planned "Massacre"
TAMPA (CBS4) - The Tampa woman accused of killing her two teenage children reportedly planned their murders days in advance.
Tampa police said they found a note written by Julie Powers Schenecker in which referred to her plan as a "massacre." Police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said Schenecker also noted that the three-day waiting period to buy a gun would "delay the massacre."
Records show Schenecker bought a .38-caliber revolver the weekend before the shootings.
Police have said Schenecker shot her children, 16-year-old Calyx and 13-year-old Beau, for being "mouthy." She is charged with first-degree murder but her arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
Her husband, Army Col. Parker Schenecker, is in Fort Worth, Texas, for Tuesday's funeral for the children.
