Masked Men Rob North Miami's Luna Star Cafe
NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) – A South Florida man is recovering after he was struck during in the head during an armed robbery of a North Miami restaurant.
North Miami police spokesman Lt. Neal Cuevas said Saturday night three masked men walked into the Luna Star Café on NE 125th Street and robbed the patrons and staff at gun point. There were at least a half-dozen diners in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.
One man, Ira Goldstein, a retired New York City Police Officer in his late 60's, tried to stop the robbery and struggled with one of the men. He suffered a head injury. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in good condition.
Police did not release the injured man's name or give an amount of money stolen.
