TAMPA (CBSMiami/AP) — The body of a Tampa Bay man, reported missing off a boat last week, has been recovered, police said.

Tampa police said in a news release that Mario Lucero Saenz, 34, was in a boat with his fiancée on Friday afternoon when it hit a sandbar. He jumped off the boat to push it off the sandbar, but went under. As the boat drifted, he attempted to remain afloat and his fiancée tossed a life vest to him.

Police say he didn't resurface and she called 911.

Dive teams from several agencies searched until Saturday when a body was recovered. Authorities then confirmed the man's identity.
