BROWARD COUNTY (CBS4) - We are all familiar with adding friends on Facebook.  Well now,  you can add your government.

The Broward County Pollution Prevention, Remediation and Air Quality Division has launched a page on the social networking site.

To become a fan of the page, search "Broward Environment"

According to the official press release, their goal is to reach out to residents and keep them updated on community events, educational competitions, environmental tips to save energy and protect our natural resources, videos, public service announcements and educational resources for schools and the community.

"We're excited to use Facebook as a way to communicate directly with our community. We encourage Broward County residents to get connected and become a fan of our Facebook page, Broward Environment, which provides information about the County's environmental programs and services," said Daniela Banu, Air Quality administrator.
