Body Of Miami Gardens Woman Pulled From Canal
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – Family and friends are mourning the loss of a Miami Gardens whose body was found in a canal early Saturday evening.
Miami Gardens police were called to an apartment building at 51 NE 204th Street around 5 p.m. to check out reports of a sick or injured person. Officers were told Mildred Townsend, 75, walked out of her apartment and never returned.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue searched the area and discovered Townsend floating face down in a canal near the building. Miami-Dade police divers pulled the body from the water, Townsend was pronounced dead on the scene.
