Police: 2 dead after exchange of gunfire inside Miami Gardens building
MIAMI - Two men are dead after shooting at one another inside the Bank of America building in Miami Gardens on Friday afternoon, according to police.
It happened inside the bank located in the 18300 block of NW 2nd Avenue.
Police confirmed to CBS News Miami that the men were first inside the elevator when shots rang out on the fifth floor of the bank building.
A Miami Gardens police spokesperson said the men "exchanged words" before the shooting started.
Authorities said the call about the shooting came in at 2:10 p.m.
Both men were transported to Aventura Hospital where they lost their lives as a result of their injuries.
There were at least a dozen marked and unmarked police vehicles at the location.
It is not clear what may have led to the shooting or if the men knew one another.
The shooting remains under investigation.
