FONTANA (CBS) — An officer-involved shooting outside a Fontana Walmart Sunday left one suspect wounded and taken to an area hospital.

The suspect's condition is not known.

According to CBS2's Ann Sterling, the shooting happened just after 7:30 p.m.

Two officers approached the suspect who was sitting in a red van.

The officers said the man pulled out a gun. One officer fired at the suspect.

A passenger in the car is being questioned by police, reported Sterling.

The Walmart -- located in the 1700 block of Foothill Boulevard near Palmetto --  is in a busy shopping area and many people heard the shot.

Neither of the two officers was hurt.
