Home Depot, Volunteers Renovate Home Of Fallen San Bernardino Co. Deputy

REDLANDS (CBSLA.com) — The home of fallen San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputy Jeremiah MacKay  was renovated for free Wednesday thanks to law enforcement volunteers and the Home Depot.

MacKay, 35, was killed on Feb. 12 during a gun battle with ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner in Big Bear. He left behind a wife and two children.

Approximately 80 volunteers from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and Home Depot outfitted the MacKay home with new windows, doors, carpets, flooring, gutters and exterior lighting.

They also completed outdoor projects including landscaping and the installation of a new garage door.

All the material for the renovation were donated by The Home Depot Foundation.
