Los Angeles County detectives investigating deadly stabbing in Castaic

Los Angeles County detectives are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened in Castaic on Saturday afternoon. 

They were called to a home in the 32700 block of Ridge Top Lane at around 2 p.m. after learning of a death in the area, according to a news release from LASD. Deputies said that they were called for an "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon call."

Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. The victim, identified on Sunday as 62-year-old Bruce Whitney, was declared dead at the scene.

Detectives said that the victim was a stepfather for a family and that they are searching for family members. They said that the man's wife was at the station, but did not note why she was there. 

The victim's stepson, 19-year-old Terrance Crawford, was arrested on Sunday, deputies said. 

SkyCal flew over the scene, where multiple LASD deputies could be seen walking in and out of the home and around the backyard.
