New Consumer Product: The Face Blanket

You've likely heard of the Snuggie, and chances are, you or someone you know even owns one or two. While the blanket with arms is the perfect gag gift for some, it's a real treasure for others. And now it seems the Snuggie has some competition since a brand new blanket has been released to the public.

Introducing, The Face Blanket. As the name not-so-subtly suggests, this is a blanket designed to wear on your face so you can sleep in comfort without your face ever getting cold again. No longer will you awake in the middle of the night, tossing and turning, trying to keep your nose warm.

The inventor, whose identity remains ambiguous, explained on The Face Blanket website, "I wasn't trying to invent anything. We had a really cold winter last year in the eastern US. I wanted to keep the heat low to save some money. So I'd dress in layers, used lots of blankets, etc. But at night, my face was getting cold while sleeping, especially my nose. This was a dilemma. I could sleep with my head under a blanket, but I've always found it uncomfortable if not impossible keep my head covered for long. You probably know what I'm talking about when the air starts to get stale underneath a blanket."

The inventor goes on to explain that after surfing the Internet in an effort to order a "blanket with breathing hole," he or she discovered no such product existed, so the only option was to invent it. After initially creating the product for personal use, The Face Blanket can now be purchased for the low price of $9.99.
