Winter Style Icon: Victoria Beckham

Following celebrity style is a great way to re-vamp your wardrobe this winter season.  If you are searching for some fashion inspiration for cooler weather, spend some time looking at photos of your favorite celebrity online.  Identify some of his/her best outfits that you feel would work for your body shape and coloring.  While your favorite celebrity's fashion fund is most likely much more extensive than your own, you can easily recreate their look for less with a little fashion know-how and some careful shopping.  Voilà!  Your winter wardrobe will instantly be more fabulous!

Here is one of my favorite fashionable celebrities, Victoria Beckham, in a great winter outfit that I have recreated for under $100!

Fair Isle Sweater

Forever 21 - 8 North Texas stores

The statement piece in Victoria's outfit is her fabulous sweater.  With great color and pattern, her Fair Isle piece would make a nice addition to winter wardrobes all over North Texas.  The duplicate sweater I found at Forever 21 in Grapevine is inexpensive at $22.50, but will still give you a fashionable, snow bunny look like Victoria.  Because sweaters often look bulky and kill your sleek silhouette, opt for a sweater in a size smaller than you would typically purchase.  This will minimize the excess material and keep your top half looking slender.

Leather Leggings

Nordstrom - 4 North Texas stores

Victoria's leather leggings incorporate texture and sheen to her outfit, making it much more interesting.  The leather leggings I found at Nordstrom Galleria Dallas look just as great, but are only $38.  Better yet, the leggings from Nordstrom are faux (making them friendly for animal lovers everywhere) and are completely knit on the backside, providing added comfort and coolness.  While a leather legging is not an ideal pant for all body shapes, it looks great on Victoria and will look fabulous on those fashionistas with a straighter body shape.  If your shape is curvy, select either a pant with a fuller leg or a sweater that extends past your bottom, allowing for added coverage and a more flattering look.

Woven Cap

Urban Outfitters - 3 North Texas stores

Victoria's winter look is completed with her black, woven cap.  I found a duplicate hat at Urban Outfitters for $34.  While this cap is one of the more expensive items in my recreated look, it is well worth the price tag because it will keep your head warm all winter long and is great for disguising bad hair days!
