Teen Arrested After Grabbing Dallas Officer By Testicles

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A man has been charged with Assault on a Public Servant after getting into an altercation with a Dallas police officer and grabbing the lawman by the testicles.

According to a police report, Cory Weddington III had just been thrown out of the Havana Lounge, in the 4000 block of Cedar Springs Road, for being underage and getting caught drinking.

Weddington reportedly refused to leave the premises until he got his credit card back, which he claimed was still inside the club. After temporarily leaving the location after 3 a.m. Sunday Weddington allegedly returned and tried to force his way back inside.

After failing to follow a police officer's instructions to leave and reportedly being given a chance to have friends help him, Weddington was arrested for Public Intoxication.

The 19-year-old allegedly became "combative" as the officer attempted to take him into custody. The officer and the teen ended up scuffling on the ground, it was then Weddington allegedly grabbed the officer by the testicles and began to squeeze and twist.

Weddington allegedly refused to let go, even after repeatedly being ordered to and being hit by the officer several times. After finally removing his grip officers said the teen continued to fight while being handcuffed.

After being un-handcuffed at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, Weddington reportedly began fighting with officials from the Dallas County Sheriff's Department and had to be re-handcuffed.

Weddington received minor injures in the scuffles. The unnamed police officer also received minor injuries. Emergency medical services were not requested for either man.

In addition to Assault on a Public Servant, Weddington was also charged with Resisting Arrest. After posting a total of $6,000 bond he was released from custody later Sunday.
