Tarrant County Officials Want Answers From Austin Over Transporation Money

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Tarrant County judge Glen Whitley is demanding answers from state lawmakers over money for transportation projects in North Texas.

It came at a meeting of the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition. Judge Whitley says the North Texas area's agreement to tolling some lanes in order get projects built means the state is cutting back other road funds the region should also be getting.

"This area has basically taken on the responsibility for taking on tolls. And if we don't get allocated the money that would have been there for those lane miles, then bacically we've been shortchanged," said Whitley.
