Expert: Ethan Couch's Time On The Run Should Be Brief

FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - "Affluenza" teen Ethan Couch and his mother are now on the run and could be anywhere in the world. But one privacy expert says they will not last very long on the lam.
Frank Ahearn is a best-selling author of books including "How To Disappear" and "The Little Black Book Of Skip Tracing."
He says if Ethan Couch and his mother fled to Mexico, they'll stick out like sore thumbs.
"These are upper-class white people, wealthy people, who are not capable of fitting in in low-income areas," he says.
And if they indeed fled the country, the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service can easily find out where they went.
"The easy part is knowing that they used their passports," Ahearn says.
And although they have a lot of money, they'll easily be found if they use credit or debit cards.
So the only other option is to carry cash; and Ahearn says since they can only carry so much on them, that's eventually going to run out.
"They need a way to also obtain money, and reaching back to their assets is out of the question," Ahearn says.
