ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The Cowboys defense stopped the Saints powerful offense in the first 30 minutes of their game Thursday night and lead 13-0 at halftime.

They hung on to shock the now 10-2 Saints, 13-10.

The Cowboys are now 7-5 and alone in first place in the NFC East.  Dallas has won four games in a row.  The Saints 10-game winning streak is over.

On the opening drive, Dak Prescott hit Michael Gallup down the sideline for 40 yards to the six yard line.

The drive stalled out and the Cowboys settled for a 26-yard field goal by Brett Maher.

The Saints drove for a 33-yard field goal on their first possession of the second half to make the score 13-3 Cowboys.

A roughing the punter penalty on the Cowboys' Randy Gregory, kept a drive alive for the Saints that ended in a 30-yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees to Keith Kirkwood.  The Saints trailed 13-10.

With less than three minutes to go in the game, a more than six-minute long Cowboys drive ended in a Dak Prescott fumble in the red zone.
