The National Weather Service says it's confirmed the touchdown of a small tornado in southeastern Michigan.
Records show that sirens weren't activated to notify some Flint-area residents of a tornado earlier this week until after it already was on the ground.
The National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms that pushed across southeastern Michigan produced several tornadoes, downed trees and power lines, and damaged homes and businesses.

"We've already been contacted by some schools and hospitals to began working on those sites immediately," said Sheldon Yellon, of Belfor Property Restoration in Birmingham.
A Lincoln Park woman got a first-hand look at that Oklahoma tornado and the damage it left behind.
During the next few days, Red Cross workers on the ground in the disaster areas will be assessing the damage, deciding where and what kind of additional support is necessary, and determining the needs of the affected communities.
It was just a year ago that Dexter experienced a tornado and emergency officials had to get the word out and deal with the extensive damage.
The new twister is just one of several created by a storm system that swept through the nation's midsection Sunday and into Monday.
"There are a lot of kids in this building who were impacted by the tornado, a lot of adults in this building who were impacted by the tornado ... it makes us take it more seriously and makes us reflect on last year," said Jamie Bronson.
Events will mark the anniversary of a tornado that touched down last year in the Dexter area, northwest of Ann Arbor, as efforts to improve storm safety continue.
