Two Detroit residents are accused of stealing more than $12 million from the U.S. Department of Education through fraudulent federal student aid applications.
After a botched rollout of last year's FAFSA application under the Biden administration, it was delayed again this year, with students encountering error messages and glitches on the site.
Typically, FAFSA forms are released on Oct. 1. But this year, the application forms came out three months late, on Dec. 30, 2023.
