A 3-foot reptile was found sitting under a crab apple tree in Bay County's Hampton Township.
"As the water levels go down in places like streets and drainage canals that were flooded, crocodiles will turn up," officials said.
"For the family, it is the most devastating outcome possible for them," police said. "They are in a state of extreme shock and disbelief."
Indian police have arrested the parents of a 6-year-old deaf and nonverbal boy who's body was found in a canal with signs of a crocodile attack.
In another "curious" observation, researchers discovered that the crocodiles love basking in marigold flowers.
