Woman taken into custody after fatal stabbing in Redford
A woman has been taken into custody after a stabbing incident early Thursday in Redford, Michigan.
The victim is a 52-year-old Redford man, who had a single stab wound in his chest, Redford Township Police Department said in a press release. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died shortly afterwards.
The stabbing was reported about 12:15 a.m. Thursday in the area of Cathedral Street and Wormer Street in Redford.
A 47-year-old woman has been identified as a suspect, and a search warrant was served at her home in Eastpointe later in the day. She was taken into custody without incident.
The stabbing happened during an altercation between the two, police said, adding "there is no ongoing threat to the public."
Police plan to present the case to the Wayne County Prosecutor's office for review.
