St. Patrick's Parade Goers Treated To Warm Weather And Sunny Skies
DETROIT (WWJ) - The St. Patrick's Parade snaked its way through downtown Detroit.
WWJ's Beth Fisher reports that it was a sea of green along Michigan Avenue in Detroit Sunday afternoon as thousands of people lined up to watch the annual parade.
Andrea Simpson of Harrison Twp. was seeing it for the first time: "I'm a little bit (Irish), it's pretty fun and the beer is good."
The parade included pipe and drum bands, school marching bands, Irish dancers and some well-groomed 'green' dogs.
Autumn Pop, 10, enjoyed the parade: "I love it, especially the horses - they are really cute."
Pop thought the dogs dressed in green sweaters were 'cool, too'.
Big green shamrocks hung along the parade route and a warm, sunny day helped to keep the parade goers enjoying the colorful entertainment.
