Snow returns this weekend with a couple of rounds you'll need the shovel for.

A winter storm warning has been issued for Monroe, Wayne, Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac and Huron counties from midnight to 4 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory is in effect for all other Southeast Michigan counties during that time.

Light snowfall is expected Saturday afternoon following a system earlier in the day that brought a little over an inch of accumulation in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.

The second round of snowfall arrives Sunday morning, with chances of a few more inches of accumulation.

Here are some expected snow totals for the first round of snow on Saturday. Again, the second round will likely bring similar amounts of time between rounds for some snow removal.

Take your time shoveling and don't wait for it all to fall before clearing the snow.

When the Sunday storm is all said and done, our entire total for the weekend will end up as our snowiest so far this season, and one of the snowiest systems since 2023.

The NEXT Weather Team will continue to track our weekend snowfall and keep you updated on official snow forecasts and what we expect the impacts to be.
