Red Wings Captain Nicklas Lidstrom Happy With One-Year Deal That's Worth $6.2 Million

Chris Osgood remembers first laying eyes on Nicklas Lidstrom during the Red Wings' playoff series against Minnesota in 1992. Even as a rookie, Lidstrom was remarkable.
"He was so young," Osgood said Tuesday, "but even then, he was so calm. That hasn't changed over time. He's one of those guys, he was really good when he came in, and he's continued that every year. I think that's one of the best compliments you can give someone, that they're just that good, all of the time."
