ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - The daughter of an elderly Ann Arbor man is held without bond for allegedly stabbing her father to death.

Eighty-six-year-old Ronald Mason was killed early Saturday in his home on Covington Drive near Scio Church Road and I-94.

Police wouldn't release details of how the man was killed, but say it "wasn't pretty." He was reportedly stabbed 25 to 30 times.

Liz, a woman who lives across the street from where the crime occurred, spoke with WWJ about the investigation.

"They were canvassing the neighborhood asking if anyone had heard any sounds ... I did not, my husband did not. We were actually awake at that time watching TV - we didn't hear anything, none of the other neighbors heard anything - I have no idea if there was a struggle within the house or if he was just, perhaps, sleeping," said Liz.

Susan Wade, 48, was charged with open murder Monday afternoon.
