Charges possible against five people after robbery at Macomb Township gas station

Four people have been arrested after a gas station robbery in Macomb Township, Michigan, and a fifth person also may be involved in the case, according to a report from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

The robbery happened about 3 a.m. Wednesday at the Mobile Gas Station at 21 Mile and Hayes roads

When officers arrived, store clerk told them three men entered the store and walked through the aisles. They then approached the clerk and demanded that he "get in the back."

Instead, the clerk left the gas station, believing that at least one of the people had a weapon.

A short time later, the clerk watched the suspects leave the store, get into a small white sport utility vehicle, and drive off eastbound on 21 Mile Road. Items that were later determined to be stolen from the gas station included over 85 Breeze Vapes, Black and Mild Swisher Select Cigars and Hostess donuts.

Then about 3:30 a.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies were sent to a "welfare check" call to a home on Chevalier Drive in Westbridge Manor in Macomb Township. The caller said that his girlfriend was unable to leave the home, and that people responsible for the robbery at Mobile Gas Station were at that house.

Multiple deputies arrived to find three small white SUVs parked outside the home. They spoke to the individuals on site and then took four people into custody:

  • 33-year-old male from Clinton Township, Michigan.
  • 20-year-old male from Macomb Township, Michigan.
  • 18-year-old male from Arnold, Missouri.
  • 18 year-old female from Clinton Township, Michigan.

Follow-up investigation also led to the arrest of a juvenile Wednesday evening, who has now been lodged at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center.

"The MCSO will be requesting charges for all five suspects from the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office," the press release said.
