After Christmas Shoppers Line Up Early For Deals

ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - Boxing Day shoppers are out in force across metro Detroit - with gift cards and return receipts in hand so they can get what they REALLY wanted for Christmas ... or to get ready for the next holiday season.

Outside the Target at Fairlane Greens shopping center in Allen Park, there was a line of about 2 dozen post-holiday shoppers waiting ready to pounce on the deals.

"Basic necessities for the household ... but you can never have enough wrapping paper," said one shopper waiting in line.

Analysts say with more people off work Monday it will mean more shoppers ... but stores have also been keeping less inventory than last year, so the early birds will have the best selection.

"All I'm here for is the Playstation 3 ... candy ... gift bags ... wrapping paper," said another post-holiday shopper.
