Walmart Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Uses Knife From Store To Threaten Clerk

TRINIDAD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Trinidad arrested two robbery suspects at about 12:34 p.m. Wednesday. Carla Moore, 36, was arrested after allegedly robbing a Walmart pharmacy at knife point with a knife she obtained inside the store's sporting goods department.

Investigators said Moore was first contacted in the store's women's restroom where she was trying on clothes that had not been purchased.

She then went to the sporting goods department and asked to see knives. The store clerk said she snatched one of the three knives he placed on the counter, grabbed the clerk and demanded money from the cash register.

The cashier turned over the money and notified store management. When Moore was approached by store management, she requested to be escorted to the pharmacy. Once there, Moore demanded money and narcotics.

Police said that's when Moore ran out of the store and entered a red Chevy Cavalier waiting in the parking lot. The car was driven by Edward Samora, 39, from Trinidad.

The vehicle was pulled over by the New Mexico State Police at about 12:57 p.m. Samora was detained for transport back to the Las Animas County Jail. Moore ran away and was later arrested.

Moore faces charges of aggravated robbery of controlled substances and aggravated robbery. Samora faces charges of accessory to the crime after the fact.
