Whipping Winds Increasing Fire Danger
DENVER (CBS4) - A cooler Tuesday after a cold front swept through the state. This brought our temperatures down about 10-15 degrees in many areas of Colorado. We hit 82 in Denver. This has also cranked up our winds. With a few fires burning in northwestern Colorado, the winds haven't been helping in the efforts to combat those fires. Thankfully overnight, winds will improve. We will still be a bit breezy Wednesday, but not as bad.
A more zonal weather pattern sets up on Wednesday and will stay with us through the weekend. Overall, we'll be very sunny, hot, and dry. A few isolated storms are possible on Wednesday in the high country, maybe a few more on Saturday. We'll warm back up to the 90s by Friday.
If you're making Father's Day plans, it should be a great day to grill outside or hit the links with dad.
