Greeley Mom Sentenced To Jail For Sex Assault On Teen Boys

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS)- A mother from Greeley will spend the next year in jail through a work-release program and six years probation.

Lynne Freeman had previously pleaded guilty in court to one count of attempted sexual assault on a child after sexually assaulting two boys, ages 14 and 16.

Freeman, 39, was arrested June 20 after the parents of a 14-year-old boy reported allegations of sexual abuse to police. The incident happened in April but was not reported to police until a couple months later.

According to police, the boy was at Freeman's home with a friend watching a movie when she told the victim's friend to take the dog outside.

"She told him to go upstairs, took him upstairs, went into a bedroom, into a closet, locked the door, started kissing him, took off his clothing and then sexually assaulted him in the closet. After that was done she told him to go back downstairs, she remained upstairs in the bathroom for a short time and told him not to tell anyone," said Greeley Police Dept. spokeswoman Susan West.

Freeman was arrested on additional charges when a second victim, a 16-yar-old boy, came forward to police with similar allegations of sexual assault. That boy told police Freeman assaulted him on two occasions.

Freeman had been a parent volunteer at University Schools in Greeley.

Freeman was sentenced Thursday to one year in jail through a work-release program, along with six years of intensive supervised probation for sex offenders.

In addition to work release and probation, Freeman will have to register as a sex offender.
