Check Out Globeville Landing Park's Redesign
DENVER (CBS4) - A redesign of a park along the South Platte River in Denver's Swansea neighborhood is complete.
The city completed the redesign of Globeville Landing Park as part of a larger project to manage stormwater in the area and reduce flood risks.
"I live in RiNo, so maybe like a half-mile away, and I've always just seen this place as I've been driving by on 38th and it looked like an awesome spot," said Lindsay McKeever.
On Friday afternoon McKeever and her dog were visiting the park. A complete redesign took place as part of the Platte to Park Hill Project which is improving drainage throughout North Denver.
The new park is near the Globeville, RiNo, and Elyria-Swansea neighborhoods. A new amphitheater near the river can be used for educational opportunities and completely redesigned playgrounds stretch across the top of a hill. New seating and gathering locations have also been added.
"When there's more play spaces and parks and places where people can be out in nature along the river that's always an amazing thing," McKeever said.
