Heat, drought and low water levels are contributing to warmer water temperatures which deplete oxygen levels and leaves trout vulnerable.

The voluntary fishing closure starts Wednesday and could turn into a mandatory emergency closure if conditions get worse.

The State of Colorado lists mandatory and voluntary fishing closures on a special section of the CPW website.
