Canadian TV Station Has Florida Panthers Playing In Super Bowl 50

By Bryan Altman, CBS Local Sports

(CBS4) - In case you didn't know it, Canadians are pretty obsessed with hockey. Yup, it's true. It's a way of life in Canada and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

But like many obsessions, problems can arise when your unbridled passion gets in the way of family life or work. In the case of one Canadian TV station, the latter just happened.

A French-language news network was doing a report on Super Bowl 50, which we all know by now features the Denver Broncos against the Carolina Panthers. However, with hockey on the brain all the time, the news network made a slight error when it came to the Carolina Panthers graphic.

The Carolina Panthers seemed a little confused by the whole thing.

But at least the Florida Panthers took it all in stride.

As one could have predicted, the Montreal Canadiens are pumped, though.

And it appears that Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo is looking forward to trying out a new sport as well.

No word on if the Florida Panthers have begun packing for the big game just yet.

Bryan Altman is, for some reason, an unabashed fan of the Rangers, Jets and Mets. If he absolutely had to pick a basketball team it would be the Knicks, but he'd gladly trade them for just one championship for any of his other three teams.
