Avon Parents Arrested In Death Of 4-Month-Old Daughter
EAGLE, Colo. (CBS4)- The parents of a 4-month-old infant were arrested on suspicion of child abuse after her death.
Patrick Williams and Lossie Thomas of Avon were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of child abuse in the death of their infant daughter who died June 8.
According to court documents the child was underweight and had skin rashes and ulcers. Her death was ruled a homicide.
Williams, 31 and Thomas, 24, have two other children who were placed in child protective services.
"There is no more important case to our office than one that involves a child who is the victim," said District Attorney Bruce Brown in a statement.
At a hearing on Wednesday, Williams was advised that he would be charged with child abuse causing death, child abuse criminal negligence and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. Bail for Williams was set at $100,000.
Thomas first appeared in court on Thursday. Formal charges will be filed on July 27.
