There were multiple fatalities from a tornado that ripped through the small Iowa town of Greenfield, which saw homes and businesses destroyed.
Some large branches blocked streets, and large limbs also fell on homes and cars.
Winds up to 62 mph blew out downtown Houston high-rises.
Weather officials say the tornado reached an estimated peak wind of 135 mph and touched down near the intersection of S. 10th Street and W. R Avenue. It traveled for about 11 miles, damaging home roofs and sidings.
The tree crushed the aluminum siding on the chimney, exposing the wood frame and pink insulation fiber to the street.
The tree was uprooted and landed on the house where Melissa Bergner and her family live in Chesterton, splitting the chimney. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.
