But drivers are already dealing with closures. Columbus was closed between Jackson and Balbo for most of the day. Crews were hard at work repaving Columbus Drive for the July event.
At the Field Museum, NASCAR held a STEAM Fest, as they called it - giving kids the opportunity to work closely with NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez.
Students also got to compete in a NASCAR-themed challenge for free tickets to Chicago race.
On Monday, city representatives released street closures, parking restrictions and how pedestrians will be able to get in and around Grant Park.
