Some even braved the dangerous temperatures Thursday night to catch some live music outside.
"Most of their belongings are outside, and so folks don't want to leave their belongings behind, and … they're pretty firm that they don't wanna lose the things that have been given to them," Pastor Eric Worringer said.
The intense heat kept many people indoors on Wednesday, and might have started a fire in the north suburbs.
The scorching temperatures on Wednesday kept many indoors with air conditioning. That was except for CBS 2's Sabrina Franza who spent the day outside.
This is just the beginning of a heat wave over the next few days.
