About 7:50 p.m., the 23-year-old was shot in the hand during an attempted robbery in the 11200 block of South Avenue H, police said. The shooter ran off without getting any of the man's property.
Bond was set at $75,000 for a 49-year-old man facing more than 20 felony charges after several "abused" pit bulls were found living in "deplorable" conditions at his home on the Far South Side last week.
The female drove a Dodge Neon through a fence before the car flipped over, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her age wasn't immediately known. No one else was in the car.
Authorities are searching for a man who has robbed two Morgan Park neighborhood banks on the Far South Side in the last two weeks.

The boy was shot in the leg about 8:45 p.m. after he walked past two males in the 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue and then heard shots and felt pain.
About 9:30 p.m., the 26-year-old was found with two gunshot wounds to the head in the 11300 block of South Forest Avenue.
The 29-year-old was walking with a friend in the 400 block of West 117th Street a few minutes after midnight when shots were fired.
Haristien Lacy, 86, and Veronica Lacy, 55, were both found unresponsive inside a home about 4 a.m. in the 11500 block of South Ada Street.
The woman, 22, was walking on the sidewalk in the 12700 block of South Morgan Street about 12:30 p.m. when she "heard shots and felt pain."
