About 7:50 p.m., the 23-year-old was shot in the hand during an attempted robbery in the 11200 block of South Avenue H, police said. The shooter ran off without getting any of the man's property.
Bond was set at $75,000 for a 49-year-old man facing more than 20 felony charges after several "abused" pit bulls were found living in "deplorable" conditions at his home on the Far South Side last week.
The female drove a Dodge Neon through a fence before the car flipped over, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her age wasn't immediately known. No one else was in the car.
