Man Rescued From Lake Michigan In 'Very Critical' Condition
CHICAGO (STMW) - Emergency crews rescued a man after he fell out of a boat into Lake Michigan Saturday evening on the Near North Side.
Fire crews responded just before 5 p.m. to a report of a person in Lake Michigan near the 1600 block of North Lake Shore Drive, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.
Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said police Marine Unit divers recovered a male from the water. Roccasalva said the 30-year-old man was put on a fire department boat and moved to another area -- which police said was the 800 block of North Lake Shore Drive.
The man, who apparently fell out of a boat, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in "very critical" condition, Roccasalva said. However, Ursitti said at least one person was taken from that location to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
