President Trump met with oil executives on Friday after the U.S. military action in Venezuela, but some doubted the viability of revamping the country's oil reserves, which Rystad Energy estimates would take 15 years and billions of dollars.

In changes to U.S. dietary guidelines, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Americans should focus on fresh vegetables, protein and dairy instead of highly-processed foods. Many health organizations applauded the efforts after slamming Kennedy earlier this week for changes to the U.S. childhood vaccine schedule. Nancy Cordes reports.
U.S. forces on Wednesday seized two oil tankers, one in the North Atlantic and the other in the Caribbean, as part of the Trump administration's blockade of Venezuela's oil exports. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. will take between 30 million and 50 million barrels of oil and sell it in the marketplace. He said the money "will then be handled in such a way that we will control how it is dispersed in a way that benefits the Venezuelan people, not corruption, not the regime."
Tom Homan, the Trump administration's border czar, spoke to CBS News about the deadly ICE shooting in Minneapolis. When asked if ICE uses excessive force, Homan said, "I haven't seen one...ICE officer found guilty of anything inappropriate." He added he's not involved in every arrest, but trusts ICE and border control agents.
Minnesota is the latest site of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown as thousands of agents were sent to the Twin Cities this week. Nationwide, ICE data shows the majority of those arrested have no criminal record. Nicole Sganga followed immigration agents on a raid and spoke to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and one man recently interrogated by ICE who said "the lines have been blurred."
Sen. Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican, spoke to CBS Mornings about Congress' role following the U.S. operation in Venezuela. He also addressed the Trump administration's comments on Greenland. When asked about the U.S. possibly using military force, he said, "it won't happen under my watch. I will do everything to stop any kind of military takeover of Greenland."
Sen. Mark Kelly, an Arizona Democrat, spoke with "CBS Mornings" Tuesday, criticizing the Trump administration when addressing the U.S. involvement in Venezuela and what could happen next. He also says, Sec. Pete Hegseth's threat to demote and censure him is about "stifling people's speech."
In Washington, D.C. on Monday, Trump administration officials plan to brief members of Congress on the Venezuela operation that led to the capture of former President Nicolas Maduro. Sen. Tim Kaine, a Virginia Democrat, told "CBS Mornings" he thinks the operation is "an illegal action" and speaks about what Congress could do next.
Nicolás Maduro's vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, was officially sworn in as Venezuela's acting president. President Trump warned he could go after her if she doesn't comply with U.S. demands, including access to the country's oil supply. Weijia Jiang reports.
