The Marathon Monday forecast is looking like it's the perfect day for a run!
A strong storm system that has been responsible for the severe weather outbreak over the South-Central and Southeast United States will make its way into Southern New England tonight bringing with it heavy rainfall, strong to damaging winds and the potential for minor coastal flooding at the time of high tide late Saturday Evening through early Sunday Morning..
The Good news is the warm up is still on for tomorrow as temps will climb into the 70's. Clouds will be the X factor to help keep temps cooler from what they other wise could be in significant sunshine. If we breaking into any substantial sun tomorrow we reach 80...if not mid 70's...for many, 60's at the coast...not too bad.
A deck of midlevel clouds will be thinning this morning giving way to sunny to partly sunny skies this Sunday. High pressure is pulling off the coast and be wrapping in a warmer moist air mass into the region today. Highs will be similar to yesterday with temps in the 62-64 inland and 50's to near 60 at the coast. We will enjoy midday sunshine before the clouds increase this afternoon thanks to blowoff from the tops of these storms.
High altitude clouds spilling over the ridge into New England under a NW flow aloft which will once again create a milky appearance to the afternoon sky. Temps on the rise today with highs climbing into the Lwr 60's, with light SE winds keeping in in the 50's at our beaches. Sunday will be similar in temperature with clouds on the increase ahead of a warm front which will provide the surge of warmth behind it across the Northeast.
The weather could not be better...but increasing high clouds with east winds could make it a bit cool at the ball park with temps near 47-50 at game time. Most of us away from the beaches will climb to 50-55 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon
The doomsday predictions of global warming may have grown tired for some people.
We will be tracking that ribbon of rain and snow currently pushing into the Great Lakes. That is the warm front or the leading edge of the warm air mass that is beginning to spread eastward. By dawn tomorrow, the precipitation will be arriving at the coldest point of the day around sunrise.
Our departing April Fool's day storm continues to pull away, but lingering effects are still in play to start off the weekend. Drying, windy down sloping winds off the hills and mountains is providing a sunny Saturday morning along the coastal plain. Upsloping winds are making for scattered mountain snow showers for North and West facing slopes. Awesome powder day for many ski areas with most locations picking up 6-12" yesterday
Heavy, wet snow fell at sunrise on April Fools' Day, letting everyone know this nagging winter isn't quite over yet.

Afternoon weather discussion of the potential for a rain/snow mix to end the week.
I would expect some diurnal cumulus to start to pop around midday into the afternoon. Still plenty of sunshine. Highs are stuck in the 30's today with Lwr 40's tomorrow with brisk NW winds.
High pressure building into New England will allow for abundant sunshine with light winds and temps in the lwr to mid 40's. Light nE winds will keep it a bit cooler right at the coast. Vernal Equinox is 7:21 where the sun shines directly over the equator giving us equal length of day and night.
After a nice spring thaw the past two days...temperatures are going to start heading down hill for the forseeable future. While this pattern plays out...some will be wondering where and when will spring ever arrive. Yesterday was a cruel tease. You knew it couldn't last.
The last time we saw a moon this large was way back in March of 1993…and if you miss it this year, you will have to wait until the year 2029 to see it again!

Behind the departing low, some early sunshine this morning, but as the ground warms clouds and the wave passes through expect more clouds to rotate through, as well as the slight risk for a few passing light showers or sprinkles. Behind the short wave, skies should be breaking this afternoon for some increasing sunshine with a breezy west wind. Highs will be in the 40's in the clouds, Lwr 50's in the sunshine towards the coastal plain. Most of the sun today will be found in the south...yet most should be clearing as we head towards evening.
Upper level winds from the SW are advecting a warm balmy airmass up the east coast. But cooler air is charging back into the eastern half of the country so This warm balmy air is being lifted up, cooled, condenced into steady to heavy rains which are extending from Vermont to the Carolinas today.
