Tom Brady Is Player Of The Week
BOSTON (CBS) -- The accolades are rolling in for Tom Brady.
Today QB 12 was named AFC offensive player of the week. Brady was 21 of 27 for 341 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Patriots' 45-24 Thanksgiving win over the Lions. He also broke his franchise record of consecutive pass attempts without an interception, which is now at 199.
This is the second time a Patriots player has been recognized by the league. Safety James Sanders received defensive player of the week honors after his effort against the Steelers.
WOODHEAD DOWNPLAYS THE SPOTLIGHT
Danny Woodhead will be the focus of a lot of stories this week. He was with the New York Jets at the start of the season and then they let him go. The Pats picked him up and he has flourished in the Patriots system. Danny knows the questions are coming.
At the same time, he wants no part of it. "Stuff like that happens," Woodhead said, when asked Tuesday if he was surprised when the Jets released him. "It's a business and that's what happens in the NFL. I'm long gone from that. It's not something I worry about, or look at in the past, because you can't. I'm here and I'm happy and that's all that matters."
Woodhead has spent a lot of time deflecting questions about the coaches and their similarities. He still remains a fan favorite in New York and amongst the Jet players. It was brought to his attention that his former teammates still root for him in that locker room.
"I didn't know that, because I'm not too worried about the media and what's going on in the media," he said. "If they said good things, great, but it's not something I'm looking into."
I am sure they won't be rooting for Danny this Monday night.
