Doc Rivers will return as head coach of the Boston Celtics, according to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.
Rivers has taken time after losing to the Lakers in game 7 of the NBA championship to make his decision. A source close to the team says key players have lobbied to keep their coach on for the remaining year of his contract.
