$5,000 Reward In Salem Newspaper Box Explosion Probe

SALEM (CBS) -- Investigators are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest after vandals blew up a newspaper box in Salem earlier this week.

Seven people were captured on surveillance video early Tuesday placing an unknown device inside a box for The Rainbow Times, the largest LGBTQ newspaper in New England.

Salem Police said the explosion that followed "rocked" the downtown area of Washington Street and Lappin Park around 1:20 a.m.

The incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
