Report: Theo Epstein Can't Hire Red Sox Employees For 3 Years
BOSTON (CBS) - The Red Sox and Cubs have agreed that Theo Epstein cannot hire any more Red Sox employees for the next three years, according to ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes, a frequent contributor to Sports Final on WBZ-TV.
Epstein, the former Red Sox general manager, left Boston to become the Cubs President of Baseball Operations after the 2011 season.
Ben Cherington, who has been with the team since 1999, was named general manager after Epstein's departure.
The two teams have still not agreed on a full compensation package for Epstein.
