Report: Patriots Sign Cornerback Tarell Brown
BOSTON (CBS) -- The effort to fill up the cornerback depth chart continued for the Patriots on Thursday, as the team agreed to a deal with free agent Tarell Brown.
ESPN's Dianna Russini reported the news via Twitter.
Brown, 30, is a veteran of eight NFL seasons -- seven with San Francisco, and most recently one year with the Raiders.
A fifth-round pick in 2007, Brown has made 11 interceptions in his career. Last year, he played in 14 games, compiling 55 tackles. His last interception came in 2012.
ESPN's Mike Reiss reported in May that the Patriots brought in Brown for a second visit after initially hosting him back in March.
The Patriots have undergone a complete remake of their cornerback depth chart this offseason. They let Darrelle Revis go to the Jets via free agency and did not pick up the option on the contract of Brandon Browner. The team also released Kyle Arrington and Alfonzo Dennard.
