Red Sox Top Royals 8-6
The Red Sox took down the Royals 8-6 on Sunday, taking two out of three in the series. Dustin Pedroia hit his 3rd HR of the season for Boston, while the KC offense was led by Jose Guillen's 2 HRs and 4 RBIs.
Sox LF Jacoby Ellsbury left the game following a collision with 3B Adrian Beltre in the 9th inning. He walked off holding his ribs.
Clay Buchholz earned the win in his season debut. He went 5 innings, giving up 3 runs (2 ER) on 7 hits, 2 BB, and 1 K.
Ramon Ramirez came on in the 8th, and gave up a 3 run shot to Guillen without recording an out. Jonathan Papelbon pitched the 9th for the save.
The Sox are in Minnesota to face the Twins tomorrow at 4:10pm. Jon Lester expected to get the ball for Boston opposite Carl Pavano.
